- AMD 7 Series device lifecycles extended through 2040
- AMD UltraScale+™ device lifecycles extended through 2045
- AMD Versal™ adaptive SoCs available through 2045+
(All temperatures and speed grades, excluding HBM devices)
At AMD, we understand that you need suppliers you can depend on for the long run. Whether you’re selecting devices for a new program or profiting from a design long in production, long-term availability of FPGAs and adaptive SoCs is critical to your business—so it’s critical to ours.
Today, we are excited to announce that we’re extending the lifecycles on all AMD 7 Series devices to 2040 and UltraScale+ devices to 2045.
While AMD plans for a minimum lifecycle of 15 years for new device families, both AMD 7 Series and UltraScale+ FPGAs and adaptive SoCs continue to deliver excellent value and capabilities for new designs. And for designs requiring high levels of performance and integration, AMD Versal adaptive SoCs will be available even longer, to 2045 and beyond.
With this lifecycle extension, select AMD devices will be available for a total of 28 years from the time of launch. That’s a long time. In some cases, it’s long enough for the next generation of designers to inherit the redesign.
What does that mean for you? With 18 total families and >150 unique devices in production through 2040 and longer, there has never been a better time to build products that last.
AMD 7 Series: Available through 2040
5 Families, 42 Unique Devices
Most cost-effective, low-density options from AMD, with time-tested value.
Featured Family: Artix™ 7 Series FPGAs
Smallest transceiver-enabled FPGAs from AMD, with low power and cost.
AMD UltraScale+: Available through 2045
7 Families, 72 Unique Devices
Ideal architecture for new cost-optimized families, balancing performance, power, and price.
Featured Family: Spartan™ UltraScale+ FPGAs
High I/O, low power, and state-of-the-art security features.
Long lifecycles are only part of the AMD commitment to our embedded and industrial customers. You’ll find AMD silicon in nearly every industry, including robotics, healthcare, automotive, and more. AMD has supported embedded designers for 40 years with world class support, design tools, and partnerships, and will continue to do so.
Design once with a trusted supplier.
Due to the shorter lifecycles of high-bandwidth memory (HBM) components, AMD cannot extend the lifecycle of Virtex™ UltraScale+ devices with integrated HBM or Versal HBM devices. See XCN23006 for more information on Virtex UltraScale+ HBM device availability.
The extended product lifecycle(s) for AMD products can be affected by unexpected supply disruption, foundry discontinuation, changes to government regulations, supply chain or operational changes, and other unforeseen circumstances. GD-244.
