AMD Community Forum

This is a user to user English language only Support Forum. You must be at least 16 years of age or older to access the AMD Community Forum. Information or opinions contained in any posts are those solely of the user making the post and are in no way validated by, or the opinions of, AMD, including our moderators. Use of any information on this board is done so AT YOUR OWN RISK and all information is provided "AS IS" and without any warranty, express or implied. While we may at time respond to posts, AMD makes no warranties, claims, or guarantees regarding the validity of any information posted by users in this site (community.amd.com).

All information posted on this board will be generally accessible to the public. AMD does not restrict access to this information; it is available to registered and unregistered users alike. Do not post any information on this board that is confidential or proprietary, whether it belongs to you or to any other person or company.

This board is moderated by both AMD employees and authorized agents and we request that you please be respectful when interacting with our moderating team. AMD reserves the right to remove a user's account and/or permanently ban any users for violations of these terms of use or for actions, which, in AMD's sole opinion, are deemed to be detrimental to other users or AMD, its products, employees, or contractors, or any third-party. Please follow the Restrictions and Guidelines provided below carefully. Any content of any type that AMD deems inappropriate for family viewing will be removed. Any decisions and actions taken by AMD or the board moderators are final and not subject to appeal.

RESTRICTIONS

  1. Posts may not contain material that violates or infringes another’s rights, including but not limited to privacy, publicity, or intellectual property rights, or that constitutes copyright or trademark infringement;
  2. Posts must not in any way disparage AMD, any of its products or services, or alternatively appear to promote any direct competitor of AMD;
  3. Posts may not contain text or imagery that is inappropriate, indecent, obscene, hateful, tortious, defamatory, slanderous or libelous (as determined by AMD in its sole discretion); Any such posts will be removed and the user's account will be permanently deleted and banned;
  4. Posts must not include threats (expressed or implied) to any person, place, business, or group; AMD provides this site for our users to gather and discuss AMD products and technology in general. You are free to disagree with others, but if you stoop to personal abuse or attacks, your post(s) will be deleted. If you are insulted, please report the post but DO NOT retaliate. Posts that contain or transmit any unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, or hateful content or content which is racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable, or which infringes upon the rights of any third party are strictly prohibited and will be removed. Trolling and/or attempting to bait others into a flame war will not be tolerated. Any post deemed to do so will be deleted;
  5. Posts must not invade privacy rights or any other rights of any person, business, or group, and the Post must not name or depict any third party without his/her permission;
  6. Posts must not contain text or imagery that promotes bigotry, racism, hatred or harm against any group or individual or promotes discrimination based on sex, race, gender, gender identity, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age;
  7. Posts must not contain material that is unlawful, in violation of or contrary to the laws or regulations in any jurisdiction where the post is created. User will indemnify AMD hold AMD harmless in connection with any violation of this section by user; and
  8. Impersonating any person, including but not limited to, an official of AMD or communicating under a false name or a name not entitled or authorized for use is strictly prohibited.
  9. Do not use the site as a redirector or gateway to another site for the purpose of collecting click income or advertising. Although there are times when a link to another site is necessary for helping or answering a question, AMD reserves the right to determine what is and is not appropriate. Any inappropriate material will be immediately deleted. Likewise, any posts containing advertisements will be removed.

GUIDELINES

  1. POST IN THE APPROPRIATE SPACE. Please read each forum description before posting to ensure you are posting in the correct forum. Off topic posts may be moved to the correct forum.
  2. NO DUPLICATE OR REPEAT POSTS. If no one answers your question or responds to your post, please "bump" it rather than posting it again.

 

PRIVACY

If you choose to register, you must provide certain personal information to AMD. By providing your personal information, you consent to allow AMD to use that information internally for our business purposes. AMD will not provide your personal information to any third party except as necessary to  comply with legal process or other legal requirements of any governmental authority; (ii) protect and defend the rights or property of AMD; (iii) enforce these terms of use. However, we reserve the right to utilize third party contractors to assist AMD in creating or maintaining the forum, and to the extent we elect to do so, you agree that we may provide those contractors with access to your personal information, provided that we require such contractors to agree to maintain the confidentiality of your personal information. By submitting your information, you agree that you have read and understood these Terms of Use. COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT – DMCA Notice & Procedure

If you believe that work belonging to you has been copied onto the AMD Community Forum without your permission, please notify by sending a written notification of claimed infringement to:

Copyright Owner or the designated agent must:

  1. Provide an electronic or physical signature.
  2. Provide a description of the copyrighted work that is claimed as infringed.
  3. Identify where the infringing copyrighted work is located on the AMD Community Forum.
  4. Provide contact information, such as name, address, phone number, and email address.
  5. Provide a statement that they have good faith belief that the infringing use is not authorized by the Copyright owner, their designated agent, or by law.
  6. Provide a statement under penalty of perjury that the information in the notice is accurate and they are the Copyright Owner or an authorized agent to act on behalf of the Copyright owner.

Copyright Owner or its designated Agent who make misrepresentations with respect to the copyright infringement may be liable for damages incurred as a result of removing or blocking the alleged copyrighted work.

Counter-Notification to Claimed Copyright Infringement:

You can file a counter-notification with AMD’s designated Agent at the address listed above or at DMCA@amd.com if a notice of copyright infringement has been filed against you. In such counter-notification you must include the following information:  

  1. Provide an electronic or physical signature.
  2. Identify the copyrighted material that was removed or disabled and the location from where it was removed or disabled.
  3. Provide a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief that the copyrighted material was removed or disabled because of a mistake or misidentification.
  4. Provide your name, address, phone number, and email address.
  5. Provide a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court in the district where you are located.
  6. Accept service of process from the complainant.

The DMCA provides that the copyrighted material that was removed or disabled will be restored or re-enabled upon receipt of valid counter-notification. US copyright law provides substantial penalty for a false counter-notice filed in response to a notice of copyright infringement.

NOTE: DMCA notices and counter-notices are only accepted to address copyright infringement claims and are not the proper method to report other legal claims (non-copyright issues such as trademark, defamation or privacy, terms of use, etc.).

 

TERMS OF MEMBERSHIP:

To post messages to these Forums, you must first register as a member. Registration from any national of Burma, Cuba, North Korea, Syria, Sudan, Venezuela, and Iran or any country prohibited by law or export restrictions or otherwise, regardless of legal residency, will not be permitted. Registration is free of charge.  By registering, you agree to abide by the following Terms of Membership:

When you register, you must choose a unique username or "handle" and you must provide a unique, valid e-mail address.  Duplicate usernames and e-mail addresses are not allowed, so if the name or address you enter is already in use, you will be prompted to choose another one.

Forum moderators and/or AMD, at their own discretion, may bar registration from any specific e-mail service (such as disposable email accounts) or ISP.

Any post on our forum expresses only the view of the author of the post and does not necessarily reflect the views of this forum or any person or entity associated with it. This forum uses moderators to monitor the content and appearance of posts in our forum.  However, considering the real-time nature of this bulletin board, it is impossible for us to monitor or review every post. Therefore, you agree that neither this forum, nor any person or entity associated with it, will be held responsible for the contents, accuracy, completeness, or validity of any information posted therein.

We have the ability to edit and/or remove objectionable messages at the sole discretion of our moderators and/or AMD.  Any user who believes that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact us immediately. Upon receipt of such notification, we will make every effort to take such action as we deem necessary within a reasonable period of time. Since this is a manual process, you are advised that we may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately.

AMD reserves the right to edit or delete any message, account, or user information for any reason whatsoever, at our sole discretion. You agree that you are solely responsible for the content of your messages, and that you will indemnify and hold harmless AMD, the moderators, Khoros (the software manufacturer) and their agents and employees with respect to any claim based upon the appearance and/or transmission of your post(s).

In the event of any complaint or legal action arising from any post by you, AMD reserves the right to reveal your identity and any other information we may know about you.

MODIFICATIONS

AMD reserves the right to modify these guidelines at any time, effective upon posting of the modified guidelines on the forum.
