Zynq® UltraScale+™ RFSoC Gen 2 and Gen 3
Xilinx announced Zynq® UltraScale+™ RFSoC Gen 2 and Gen 3 last week, which established Xilinx as an uncontested provider of monolithic, direct-RF, single-chip adaptable radio platforms, now with greater RF performance and scalability.
Zynq UltraScale+ RFSoC devices leverage the highly successful 16nm Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC platform and add high-performance RF sampling data converters and reconfigurable Soft-Decision Forward Error Correction (SD-FEC). Zynq UltraScale+ RFSoC Gen 2 device, sampling now with production scheduled for June 2019, pushes the analog input /output frequency to 5GHz to support the n79 5G NR bands in Asia and is available in a 16T/16R configuration. Zynq UltraScale+ RFSoC Gen 3 devices extend the input / output frequency to 6GHz covering the full sub-6GHz band and increase ADC sample rate to 5GSPS from 4GSPS and resolution to 14-bit from 12-bit. Zynq UltraScale+ RFSoC Gen 3 devices are available in both 8T8R and 16T16R configurations and allow full support of the sub-6GHz radio bands and extended mmWave IF implementation. Also, Zynq UltraScale+ RFSoC Gen 3 devices can be configured as 12T12R FDD devices optimized for Digital Pre-Distortion (DPD) feedback applications. Xilinx has added full multi-band support and enhanced hard decimation and interpolation options to Zynq UltraScale+ RFSoC portfolio so that designers can simplify frequency planning and reduce required programmable logic.
With complete coverage of sub-6GHz spectrum support, customers can accelerate the design and development of next-gen systems for their target use cases. Visit www.xilinx.com/rfsoc to find more details on the Zynq UltraScale+ RFSoC products.
Join us in the Xilinx booth at MWC where we will have a full TX and RX demo of Zynq UltraScale+ RFSoC Gen 2 operating at 4.9GHz with 5G NR signals along with 3 other demos. For more information, visit the Xilinx MWC 2019 event page or contact your local Xilinx/distributor sales.
