AMD and MassRobotics announced the inaugural AMD Robotics Innovation Challenge, which invites participants to explore the benefits and advantages of adaptive computing to create solutions that integrate AMD Kria SOMs into their robotics projects.
Participants in the challenge will focus on addressing complex problems in the field of robotics and will utilize the AMD Kria™ KR260 Robotics Starter Kit – a premier platform to evaluate applications targeted to robotics, machine vision, and industrial communications & control – to develop innovative robotics solutions. With real-time computing requirements becoming increasingly crucial in robot development, the Kria KR260 starter kit and Kria K26 production SOM present an ideal solution by offering low power consumption, high performance, reconfigurability, and reliability.
To be eligible for the AMD Robotics Innovation Challenge, companies must be early-stage startups (up to Series A), have a solid team with digital and analog design expertise, and possess strong leadership with a proven track record of success.
Applications to participate in the Challenge will be accepted from May 22 - June 12, 2023. Application evaluations begin in mid-June and wrap up on October 20, 2023.
Participants in the program will receive a range of benefits, including:
- Prize funding of $5,000 per selected startup
- Access to AMD's innovation centers and market experts in Industrial, Vision, Healthcare & Sciences
- Opportunity to showcase solutions at prominent events such as ROSCon and SPS Shows under the AMD banner
- Introductions to MassRobotics' extensive robotics network
- Access to AMD Kria KR260 Robotics Starter Kits
- Opportunity to collaborate on marketing and media engagements such as press announcements, articles, and tradeshows
