SDK 1.2.1

We are pleased to announce the AMD Alveo™ Media Acceleration portfolio (AMA) SDK 1.2.1 release—further expanding the AMD Alveo MA35D media accelerator capabilities.

New in this release are:

  • Support for Alma 9.4, Debian 12.6, and Ubuntu 24.04 Linux distributions
  • Further stability enhancements, and compliance improvements for H.264

Obsolete Features:

  • To ensure consistent video quality, encoding parameters such as bit rate, qp, and crf value must be set, explicitly.
  • To ensure optimal host-device data transaction, generic hwupload, and hwdownload plugins are replaced by their specialized counterparts hwupload_ama and hwdownload_ama.
