When AMD introduced Radeon™ Software as a successor to our Catalyst Control Center back in 2015, our software was still primarily a graphics control panel designed to allow users to adjust various settings related to their graphics card. Over the past few years, we have been steadily introducing more features that go beyond graphics control, adding new capabilities like AMD Ryzen™ processor-specific tools such as CPU monitoring and overclocking, as well as platform-level controls for technologies like AMD SmartShift and AMD Smart Access Memory™ technology1. We felt that our existing AMD Radeon Software brand no longer portrayed what our software was ultimately capable of, and so with this release, we are introducing a new brand for our feature-rich application, called AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition.   

The holiday season is here, and I am sure we’re all looking forward to getting some time off to rest and recharge, and more importantly, indulge in our favorite pastime, gaming. But along with celebrating the holidays, we here at AMD would also like to take the time to celebrate another significant day – the 6-month anniversary of the launch of AMD FidelityFX™ Super Resolution (FSR). Today’s Radeon™ Software Adrenalin release brings a new auto overclocking feature for AMD Ryzen™ 5000 series processors and AMD Radeon™ 6000 series graphics, and Microsoft® Windows® 11 support.

AMD and Microsoft have collaborated in helping advance PC gaming with the latest iteration of Windows® 11.  New PCs featuring AMD Ryzen processors and AMD Radeon graphics deliver the full potential for Windows® 11 gaming through some key enhancements.

Just over 3 weeks ago we unleashed upon the world AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (1), probably one of our most anticipated technologies ever. On June 22, we announced that FSR was available in 7 games on the day of launch, with 12 more games coming with FSR in the future, and we are delighted with the positive reception everyone has given FSR. Today, we have some more exciting news, with more games getting FSR support, the release of FSR for developers on GPUOpen, and FSR support in Unity and Unreal® Engine.
