I've upgraded to a 7900XTX and regret it currently.
My standard home setup for over 20 years has been 2 monitors, currently 2560*1440@144 and 1920*1200@75.
When both monitors are connected the RAM clock on the 7900XTX goes from variable (~115MHz to 850MHz) straight to maximum (2487MHz) and the power usage of the card goes from around 16W-30W to 90W.
I was originally using AMD Adrenaline drivers 23.1.1, I have recenetly downloaded and installed 23.2.1 and the issue remains unchanged.
I have seen some instances of people saying this is a known issue but I can't find any official updates about it.
I have reported it within the Adrenaline software, including logs from GPU-Z that I used to view the power usage and RAM speeds.
