Ryzen 7800X3D with sticker on top

I got a new Ryzen 7800X3D for a new build, but the processor arrived with a sticker of serial number on top.

The store says that the sticker is the official serial number and should be kept and just put the thermal paste on top. Sounds weird especially when the CPU can reach 89 degrees, with a paper sticker on top of it...

Should it be kept or must be removed?

I have never heard of a seller putting a sticker on the CPU IHS. Was it used?

I wouldn't trust it.  I certainly wouldn't put thermal paste on top of it or otherwise leave it under a heatsink.  I'd suggest formally contacting AMD.  Perhaps at:

EDIT:  I guess I should be more specific.  I wouldn't trust that the seller has sold you an official chip.  As pcbuilder noted above, I've never seen/heard of any cpu having such a sticker.  Where did you buy the thing?
