I have the latest drivers for my graphics card installed and yet windows update downloads and installs an older version which causes stability issues with my computer .
How can this be prevented and why does it happen?

I know this is not an answer but a workaround, but until Microsoft provides a solution it's the best you can do.

1. Download and install Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU)
2. Run the software
3. Click "Disable Windows Driver Updates" button

That will prevent automatic override and installation of GPU updates by Windows update. That's pretty much one of the first things I do after formatting a computer. Hope that helps!

I have DDU installed and I can see that this option is enabled and yet windows searches for drivers.
I have a second computer with RTX3060Ti and there this never happened to me .
Where is the problem that this is happening ? Is the problem the AMD software or microsoft windows ?

Disable Windows Driver Updates in DDU dont work for my .

Strange that this is happening , I think because of this a lot of people may have PC stability problems and complain about Radeon graphics cards and drivers as they may not even notice that windows has installed an old version. At my place strange things started to happen to my computer after this update by windows.
