This is a very old problem (at least years old). See attached screenshot.
I don't know the exact causes of this problem, but there is strong evidence that it is closely related to wakeups of screen sleeps/system hibernation.
Normally, zombie icons in system tray indicate app crashes. However when I search in Event Viewer, I cannot find any crashes regarding AMD Software. Maybe this is just a programming mistake?
