I also wish this could be fixed. There's a plethora of things people suggest trying out, but if you're on any semi-recent AMD GPU, it basically never works. My current one is an R9 390 from 2015 (which has served me well all things considered), and I am looking to upgrade my entire setup next year. But considering that KotOR 1 is my favourite game and I would really like to be able to play it as intended, with the original graphical effects that worked in 2003, I am now considering to forego going for another AMD GPU
I would really like not to have to switch, but this issue seems to not be fixable on the user end anymore. If there is a solution, I would be glad to hear it.
What I did: Run an older atioglxx.dll, this just stopped the program from running. Using a wined3d wrapper, other opengl dlls, DXVK, all in vain. Couldn't find GPU drivers old enough to both work on my GPU and support this function either.

John
