Does AMD really upgrade their driver every week?
It seems like at least once a week I am prompted to download and install the latest version of Raptor/Catalyst.
This is really annoying. I am in the middle of work and I have to download and install yet another upgrade.
What could be so important that it couldn't wait and lumped in with a once-a-month upgrade, or something less frequent?
How do I turn this off?
It sounds like you have a Legacy card...but who knows? INFORMATION REQUIRED WHEN POSTING A QUESTION
Okay, here's some info about my system:
ASUS Desktop
Windows 7 Home Premium
8 GB RAM
Processor: AMD FX-4100 Quad-Core Processor 3.60 GHz
Display Adapter: AMD Radeon HD 6670
Driver Version: 15.200.1062.1004
Need any other info?
How old does a card have to be to be considered "legacy"? I haven't had this computer that long, maybe five years.
My previous two computers themselves didn't live longer than ten years.
What it means is AMD will have no more updates for the Legacy group of cards...Legacy
I recommend using Autoruns to disable the notifications..Legacy branch being nagged about GCN driver updates
Also, if you have raptr installed, it will nag you to death as well.
If you are using a product that is supported with the current drivers : How to Change Driver Update Notification Status
Thanks. I'll look into this.
It's just a notification. You don't have to install it. It is there because they have made changes that fix bugs for some people or they added features. If you are not having issues I would never feel obligated to update.
