DaVinci Resolve Rending crashing with AMD Software: PRO Edition 22.Q2

When i use DaVinci Resolve to Rending videos the Dacinci just keeps crashing, and i just update to AMD Software: PRO Edition 22.Q2.

I back to use the AMD Software: PRO Edition 21.Q4, it works.

I am having the same problem since I updated my drivers. Any help would be appreciated.

If you are using Radeon 6000 Series. For now, using an older version of AMD Software: PRO Edition 21.Q4 is a temporary compromise solution. I believe this is due to an issue with AMD's new driver, and I ran some tests to confirm my suspicions.

Below is my test

Davinci Resolve Studio 17.4.6 - AMD Software: PRO Edition 21.Q4  work

Davinci Resolve Studio 17.4.6 - AMD Software: PRO Edition 22.Q2  not work

 

Davinci Resolve Studio 18.0b4 - AMD Software: PRO Edition 21.Q4  work

Davinci Resolve Studio 18.0b4 - AMD Software: PRO Edition 22.Q2  not work

DaVinci only works with me when I have WQHL drivers installed. If I try any others it will either say that I don't even have OpenCL or outright crash during editing. I didn't even get to render on those.

I also had issues when Win11 updated my drivers to:

AMD Radeon Graphics v. 30.0.14056.7 from April 26th, 2022 (oem72.inf)
AMD Radeon RX 6600M v. 30.0.14056.7 from April 26th, 2022 (oem72.inf)

I had to go back to the previous version of the drivers:
v. 30.0.15002.1004 from March 9th, 2022 (oem37.inf)

But I cannot follow these versions and the versions available on ADM support website:

  • Adrenalin 22.5.2 Optional (WHQL) 6/20/2022
  • Adrenalin 22.5.1 Recommended (WHQL) 5/10/2022
  • PRO Edition 22.Q2 6/14/2022

Could you please explain me:

  • the difference of version numbers v30 (my computer) vs. v22 (amd support) ?
  • the difference between Adrenalin and PRO Edition
