First, some information about my rig.
Drivers: 24.9.1
GPU: Sapphire Pulse RX 7900 GRE
CPU: R7 5700X
OS: Fully updated Windows 11 23H2
I have a problem with some settings in AMD Software that I didn't have a problem with before. Let's start with the fact that I installed the driver 100% cleanly using DDU. Every time I install a new driver, I enable GLOBALLY a few settings at the start and It was the same this time. These settings are:
Radeon Image Sharpening with default level 80%
Anisotropic Filtering with level x16
I noticed that there is a problem with these settings in the latest driver version. First of all, the RiS sharpness level setting does not apply to game profiles. Each game profile has its sharpness level set to 100% also with some game profiles there is no RiS setting at all! Secondly, the anisotropic filtering level is not remembered. Despite setting x16, AFTER RESTARTING THE PC it returns to x2. Thirdly, if you export user settings, and then import them later, the anisotopic filtering level is still x2, regardless of the previously set level so, it looks like this setting doesn't import at all.
I was try to find some connection between these settings (RiS and Anisotropic Filtering) and came across some interesting observation. When RiS is turned off, the anisotropic filtering level is remembered. This is strange, very strange. Unfortunately, I did not find any connection with incorrect RiS level in game profiles or the problem with importing anisotropic filtering level. Does anyone else have similar problems? Would any of you dear users be kind enough to check this for yourself? Honestly, I have no idea if there is a solution to all this, but if anyone knows of one, I would be very grateful if you could point me to it. I also sent some reports using the bug reporting tool, I hope it will have some effect.
I have the same Issue with my 7800XT and this Driver Version. The Image Sharpening ist set to global 80% and the Game Profile set this to 100%. When i manually set this to 80% it stays at this. Minor Bug but a little bit annoying because the step from 80 to 100% Sharpening is very high and oversharp my Games.
When you restart your PC, stays the Sharpening at 80% when you set it manually?
Yes, when I set RiS manually in a selected game profile, it stays there after restarting but the anisotropic filtering level is not, it always goes back to x2. I also found a new observation - When you set RiS manually in the game profile and enable AFMF2 in that profile, the RiS level instant will return to 100%.
New driver (24.10.1) and same problem. Absolutely nothing has changed after the update.
