New to AMD, having trouble getting my PC to boot.

So i've recently decided to swap to AMD because their prices are great for the performance you get and I wanted to upgrade without breaking the bank. However when I "finished" with my build which was basically just a new MOBO, CPU, RAM (cause it needed to be DDR4), and a 600W PSU for good measure, the pc didnt display anything and my USBs werent working as I noted from my peripherals not lighting up. The CPU fan, back panel fan, front panel fan, and DVD/CD player all functioned fine. I can only assume the SSD and Hard Drive also worked fine as they drew power from the same area/cables as the disc drive. The graphics card fan also started up a little bit but for a small spurt. The specs are:

I've spent my entire Sunday trying to get this thing to work, and I don't really have another PC to game on. I thought I had done enough research but apparently not. I'm desperate at this point and just looking for answers. I checked to see if the CPU was seated correctly, i was pretty sure the first time, but I double checked anyway. At first when I started the PC would run for a few moments and then restart repeatedly, but I figured out that was cause the RAM wasn't seated properly, but I fixed that. Now it still wont display anything to my monitor or pick up my peripherals. I'll try to post some pictures but I dont know if theyll be helpful. I was warned that the mobo may be incompatible with the CPU until a BIOS update, but I didnt think it would be like this, if thats what it is. Does that sound like what the issue is?

Because you are using a 3xx series motherboard with the 2xxx processor the first thing I would do is check on the BOIS version.

The motherboard BIOS needs to be on version 4.50 or newer.

Hey friend, do the symptoms match the diagnosis? This also seems likely to me since the BIOS tag on the mobo says P3.00, but Id hate to apply for the boot kit and get all that done just to have it not be the issue.

Sorry for the late response but, Yes I think the problems you are having is because the BIOS version needs to be updated for the newer processors.

If you have not already read the link that goodplay has provided please do so.

The fastest way to get the update done is to go to a local retailer or independent repair shop and have them do the update.  If you have more time contact ASRock's support line.  Option 3 is AMD's boot kit.

You might need the boot kit https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/pa-100
