Buying a Ryzen 7 5800X

I'm upgrading my 5500 to a 5800x and Im wondering now should I get a tower cooler for it. I'm using the box cooler currently and it's been doing pretty good except for summer time when the CPU is mostly at 80-90 C° (while gaming) as temps reach 39 C°. Given the 5800x has more power would you recommend a tower cooler/AIO or should it be fine with the box cooler. (Thoughts on the 5800x too if you think it's a good upgrade)

If you have the Wraith Prism, its quite good actually. However a new tower cooler will be much more efficient.

The 120mm Fan (or fans if you buy one with two) its much larger and the airflow is better since its not downfiring like the Prism. You'll lose a bit of airflow on the VRM but its not that bad.

You can also try offset undervolting a bit on the vCore.

Good Luck

The Ryzen 5500 box cooler is the Wraith Stealth. It is barely adequate for a 65W TDP processor, you will need a better cooler for a 105W TDP processor like the 5800X.
