Greetings,
So almost a year ago I bought a pc and right after an Radeon RX 7800 XT Sapphire Pure. For about two weeks everything was running smooth .At some point while playing Squad (if I remember after an update of the game with a heavy loading intro ) my PC froze and had to hard reset it.Since then until now I had a lot of black screen /freezes in random moments but only while gaming .I searched everywhere (here ,reddit etc ) seeing the driver problems and applied everything presented as a solution .I rma the card to the seller he did the typical gpu stress test and returned the card as not faulty. I kept having the random black screens .My pc ran stable for about 4 months up until a windows update and adrenalin update plus a Squad update. I got frustrated for another time and took my gpu to a local technician. We switched cards he got mine and I got his Asus 1080 ti with similar wattage .He tested my gpu with games and stress test and the gpu was rock solid (but on my system it run for quite some time until it didn't) .Strangely his card the 1080ti for the first day ran smooth second day on Squad while playing PC restarted .I had another restart right after again on Squad .After that the 1080 ti wasn't recognized and I had to troubleshoot it .Same happens with my gpu RX 7800xt .I ve done everything ddu ,resit everything ,bios updates ,clean windows install cleaned everything etc.Now I ve send the gpu for 2nd time to seller and waiting for the test.
PC Specs:
Intel i5 13600K
Gigabyte z790 aorus elite ax
Corsair Vengeance 32 gb DDR 5
Corsair rmx 750 w gold plus psu
Nzxt 280mm x62 kraken cooler
Samsung 970 pro ssd 1tb (windows driver )
Corsair mpx600 1tb 2nd ssd
6 enermax fans
Now the PC without the gpu is stuck on booting to BIOS and can't get past POST ( I plugged my monitor DP in my motherboard slot ) sometimes it tries to auto repair but never finish it .Only part that is somewhat old (2,5 years old is the psu had it on my old PC)
Plz I would appreciate any ideas I need my pc since it's not only for gaming but for editing videos for my job (never had issues while using premiere pro or after effects).
It sounds as if all troubleshooting efforts have been spent on the GPU, and yet when the card is tested in another system it's fine, and when a different card is tried in your system the issue remains.
You mention updating the motherboard BIOS, and performing a fresh install of Windows. Have you considered that the 13600K falls within the list of Intel processors affected by recent voltage-induced instability?
To be honest I didn't thought or read about intel instability issues didn't see any temperature problems from cpu or gpu either they both never pass 65 Celsius on heavy gaming volts are good aswell. Only thing I noticed is gpu have some super fast power spikes while gaming. Can you elaborate on the voltage induced instability?I was leaning towards my psu being at its last breaths cause I had restarts with the 1080 ti.
This has been heavily covered for the past 8 months or so, surprised you haven't heard about it. The good news is that Intel has finally released microcode they believe will prevent the problem. The bad news is if your chip is suffering from instability, it's already too late.

I read about the issue and saw vids holy moly I totally missed that .But is it within the degradation cpu signs to randomly crash and have no monitor signal while everything in PC runs and need a hard reboot?I also get my gpu not being recognized after that and need to ddu and most of times I still can't get the gpu to be recognized cause in the known intel cpu problems I didn't see similar problems .
So the last part of your original post states that you've sent the 7800XT for RMA a second time (first time found no problems) and yet you're still having issues booting and Windows recovery even using the IGP.
Is it for sure the CPU overvolt issue? No it could be something else, memory, motherboard or SSD. Since you have 2 SSDs that should be an easy one to test by installing Windows on the second drive instead. Other than that you'd need to RMA or swap parts. But as there is a known issue with the CPU I would start there.
The link I posted previously has a video at the bottom on what to do.
First, even if you've recently updated your motherboard BIOS, go check for a newer version (may be marked beta) that has the latest Intel microcode update.
Make sure to load optimized defaults in BIOS and check that any auto overclock or performance enhancement motherboard settings are disabled.
If you still have access to the 1080ti there is a test by reinstalling the nVidia driver package multiple times. Running the Cinebench Multi test may also trigger it.
Last thing would be to try downclocking the CPU by a few hundred MHz to see if that makes a difference.
So after your suggestion and a lot of searching around about the Intel proccessors issues i flashed the latest bios of my mobo with the 0x129 microcode fix and the intel default settings on bios .PC booted into windows.I ran an intel diagnostic tool and it passed the test although at the igpu and cpu stress test it lagged a bit ( i feel it might be normal for igpu) but it passed the whole test by Intel. At the same time i had HWIN open to check the tempratures voltages and core speeds. They seemed normal during the Intel test. Then i loaded OCCT and ran a cpu test ,PC crashed to blue screen within 2 minutes and after 2 restarts it booted again to Windows.I feel it might the culprit. The above test was done without my Rx 7800 xt on the system just the cpu and everything else of course. What i cant explain and i am sorry if i am ignorant is when i have my gpu on it doesnt give me a bluescreen but a complete freeze (while in a game for example) and after lets say a minute it goes to no display black screen while everything else is running then i have to hard reset and get all the no gpu recognized ,many reboots etc problems. Can the cpu cause a different issue while it has my gpu on the mobo?
Possibly, I would try underclocking the CPU frequency, adjust the multiplier down a few hundred MHz and see if it stabilizes. That should tell for sure if it's the CPU.
I will test it and report back thanks a ton for your time I ll let the post updated if I find the problem/solution
