Black Screen Bug no signal workaround Fix 6900XT

Issue: 2 seconds after booting into windows my monitor was turning off and saying there is no signal. Unplugging and plugging back in the monitor would show the screen for 2 seconds again then proceed to turn off to no signal.

Troubleshooting stuff i did: Safe mode and deleting the AMD driver fixed the issue, so the driver is the culprit, likely a driver bug.
Updating to the latest driver did not fix the issue, as well as ddu clean, going to older or newer versions did not work either. I also tried rolling back windows updates, but could not roll back feature updates, so potentially the cause could have been in windows feature update, although i don't recall updating my pc the day prior.

workaround(fix): I unplugged my main monitor(dp 360hz) and plugged in a 2nd monitor(hdmi), the second monitor started working without black screening, so i plugged back in the main monitor and the main monitor started working. Not sure what is going on here but ive spent 14 hours trying to fix this and if any one has the same issue i hope this helps.

**bleep**. why does plugging a 2nd monitor fix this. and why was my computer working without issue for months and randomly today it decided nope you will have a black screen.

Hello,

I have this exact same problem.  Updated my drivers last night which also triggered a chipset driver install.  I have followed most of the above and can only get my card working with HDMI.

Something is very wrong.  Hoping someone else has a solution - I don't really want to use HDMI as the refresh rate is too low.

I solved my issue.  Somehow during the driver update process (I presume) my monitor got into some kind of broken DP state.  Power cycling the monitor resolved all my issues (unplugged from the wall, plugged in again).  Phew!
