5700xt Crossfire support
question or statement?
Question can i use 5700 xt crossfire
You can in applications that have explicit support for Crossfire. MultiGPU support works in a handful of games (Deux Ex-DX12, Ashes of the Singularity-DX12, Strange Brigade-Vulkan). So it's there, it's more a matter of the game developers to implement support.
In my opinion it's not worth it unless there's a specific game you want to play that clearly specifies Crossfire or MultiGPU support.
as far as i know you can use Multi-GPUs in Vulkan and DX12 BUT NOT in DX11 (& earlier) and OpenGL.
so YES and NO
As far as I am aware of AMD dropped crossfire support for the RX 5700 series entirely. To the best of my knowledge this was done due to the extremely low percent of users who implemented crossfire.
AMD will not support Crossfire (DX11 and earlier) for the 5700 series.
DX12/Vulkan based multiGPU is supported by the game developer and not the GPU drivers. So if a game has multiGPU support under DX12/Vulkan that will work.
Hi
I looked for articles about this and looked at the RX 5700/XT Specs.
No mention of DX11 Crossfire on the specs.
AMD seems to want to focus on DX12 and Vulkan and neglect the fact that the vast majority of games run on DX11 and below.
This is surprising because it lkooks like Navi DX11 performance is finally catching up to Nvidia somewhat whereas the Nvidia RTX GPUs are now much better at DX12 and Vulkan versus GTX1080/1070/1060 series.
I see this article: https://www.pcgamesn.com/amd/rx-5700-xt-killed-crossfire
Well AMD kept that quiet.
The Radeon VII does not support crossfire either mentioned in this article:
https://www.techradar.com/uk/reviews/amd-radeon-vii
More reason not to purchase AMD GPUs then.
Nvidia RTX2070 Super supports SLI.
https://www.overclock3d.net/news/gpu_displays/nvidia_s_rtx_2070_super_supports_sli/1
I still run dual R9 Fury X in Crossfire DX11 and DX12 MultiGPU rather than running a single RX Vega 64 Liquid as they perform better than the single RX Vega 64 Liquid on the games I run.
AMD did do a good job of improving DX11 Crossfire Support on AAA titles following RX480 launch for sure. It can be made to work well.I have no idea how much effort it took, though, but since dual RX480 in DX11 Crossfire or DX12 MultiGPU was the only thing AMD had to fight the GTX1080 at the time I guess it must have been a priority.
Bye.
"Nvidia RTX2070 Super supports SLI"
Sure, but you have to pay $80 for the NVLink bridge. The gouging never stops with them.
Update: MSI 5700 XT EVOKE is listed as having crossfire support (2x). Add far as I know, that's the only one at this time.
now i am purchased MSI RX 5700 OC GP MECH EDITION
its works fine with crossfire.
as you can see link.
i played assassins creed odyssey, nothing changed, but when i played far cry 4, it was working good.
Which driver?
RE Far Cry 4 and working good.
Can you expand on that?
What resolution?
1080p
2K
4K
What Crossfire Scaling do you see at each resolution?
POlease note you can only compare CrossFire Scaling by comparing CrossFire Results to perfromancxe with Main CrossFire button off.
Just disabling Crossfire in game profile is misleading.
Thanks.
sorry, for lack of info.
i found latest adrenalin edition version. when you find right on top ''settings'' and you find advanced settings,
i enabled mgpu ''on''
and i did not see differences in asassins creed odyssey 1080p, because only 2fps is higher than single gpu. and second gpu wasnt hotter.
but i saw in far cry 4 differences in 1080p two cards heat was increased.
but msi mech oc gp rx5700 edition has a problem about thermalpad.
when i changed thermalpad, iwill write again.
thanks too.
By the latest Adrenalin version do you mean 2020 20.2.1
I will be very surprised if you see any Crossfire Scaling at 1080p with RX5700.
If you only have a 1080p monitor, you could turn on Virtual Super resolution, set the display mode to 4K, set the game settings to max or ultra at 4K and then compare the Crossfire on versus off results.
Bye.
