Warhammer Space Marine 2 Driver timeout

My game crashes every hour or two with AMD driver timeout. I cannot play the game any more now that I'm in a boss fight that the game CANNOT go through the fight without crashing. I've done everything I could think of. Lowered quality, limited fps, disabled igpu, DDU for new drivers, and basically everything else i could find that started with 'AMD driver timeout' on the first few pages on google.

I have an the following specs

AMD Radeon RX 7600 (with driver 24.10.37.10, yes installed clean)

AMD Ryzen 5 7600

48 GB Corsair RAM

700 wat Corsair PSU

Windows 11, fully updated.

I was experiencing something very similar and could not get past the rooftop on mission 3 without driver timeout. After getting 24.10.37.10 clean installed, limiting my frame rate to 60 in driver, turning off tessellation in the drivers, running my gpu at bone stock settings I was able to get past that portion. Now I get the timeout error crash in operations nearly always near the end right before extraction, losing all progress. Me and a friend try to play and join back in after the crash only for last night I crashed before he could even get back into the operation. It is super frustrating and really killing our will to play the game as we would both be several levels higher already if not for the crashing and that is only because we are able to join back in as long as the other doesn’t crash, this is unacceptable especially on an AMD partnered game either the devs needs to work with AMD to get drivers working or AMD needs to get on the DEVS to fix their game because it is not a good look at all when you are partnered with a game and your drivers are the ones with issues. Even after as of 9/12/2024 everything updated and still having these issues.

Yeah man I feel you. I can say that for the first 3-4 missions, my game crashed like 2 times but then as I got closer to the end of the game, it crashed every few minutes. I would get to certain parts of the missions and it'd crash repeatedly and become unplayable. I tried switching to the newest driver, the previous driver, and even the previous ones directly from the AMD website, and nothing. Tried running a DDU and still crashes. Verified the integrity of the game files on Steam, but nothing. Deleted and re-installed the game multiple times and nothing. I have the latest Windows 11 update as well and nothing. I even ran the "sfc /scannow" and the "dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth" command on the command prompt as admin and nothing. They custom-built my PC literally like a month ago all with brand new parts at Micro Center. My wife works as an I.T. support specialist and we have tried many other things as well and nothing has been fixed. She thinks that it is just an obvious driver issue that AMD needs to send a fixed update for. Specs are listed below.

- AMD Ryzen 7 7800 X3D 8 core

- AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT

- 32 GB of RAM

- 2TB SSD

- AMD B650 Gaming Wifi motherboard

- 850w PSU

- Windows 11 Pro fully updated

AMD please send a fix to the driver update. I know that this game came out to the public this past Monday to the people who didn't buy the higher editions of the game but still, this should've been developed, tested, and released fixed when the game came out. Having the game be rendered unplayable because of driver issues is extremely annoying and something that should be fixed and worked on immediately.

I've been getting driver timeouts with the 7900xtx through its whole generation on many games in Windows 10, 11 and Linux. I got my GPU replaced twice and it has only changed the rate of which I suffer from timeouts. I feel its just a botched series of cards. AMD has messed up with this generation.

- AMD Ryzen 7 7800 X3D 8 core

- AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX

- 64 GB of RAM

- 2TB SSD

- TUF GAMING X570-PLUS

- 1000w PSU

I have 7950x3d with ccd1 disabled and 7900xt from gigabyte, so i had two game breaking tdr errors i couldn't pass, because it was 100% certain driver crash(first one is on the Rooftop in the third or second campaign mission, where snipers shooting green laser beams and green flying mines would crash the driver, and the second crash is in the Endgame boss) What helped me to troubleshoot that:

I installed the 24.10.37 beta drivers optimized for the space marine 2 and performed a slight undervolt with Adrenalin software, i had 1100mV on Core, i lowered it to the 1075mV, which fixed both TDR crashes for me and i was finally able to complete the game. Keep in mind that this undervolt surprisingly crashes my gpu driver in other games like BF2042 or CoD Warzone, so i would recommend to start from the 1080mV, or even 1085mV first.

amd dont give a f about their 20% of problem users.

It cures with limiting gclock and maxing powerlimits

Well i tested +15% power limite and gpu clock on 2400 mhz thats for asrock taichi 7900 xtx, on pvp game mode(!). So before that i cant even finish 1 match without driver crash. Today i was able play for 3 hours non stop...and than driver crashed. Before crash game stutters for 1 second. So factory OC completely unstable. And in the end it doesn't fix issue you crashing anyway. Sooo... AMD any solution? Maybe contact your partner Asrock, i believe Taichi version of 7900xtx need bios update? Or maybe you can fix it on Adrenaline? Mainly problem with factory OC versions of your products, so is a big deal to update bios for stable clocks? Well i belive it depends what crystal of gpu you will receive. If you unlucky like me, videocard will be unstable. What gpu clocks are on game mode on reference 7900xtx?

Dont apply higher power limits, just try to lower the Core voltage a little bit via Adrenalin Software, first from 1100mV to 1090mV, if that doesnt fix the problem go further, i started with as low as 1075mV first and that helped in SP2 but as i already mentioned above some other games crash with that undervolt.

i set core on 2400 mhz max than play with voltage from stock 1150 to 1065 voltage with step 5 (1150-1145-1140-1135 and etc) so on pvp game mode with voltage 1065 i crashed after around 30 mins of gameplay. On average  i play around 20 to 30 mins with different voltage. On stock i crash every map or with luck only finish 1 map (around 10 mins of gameplay). But iam done...its not a plug and play its pure p*rn. 7900 xtx Taichi bad choice.  Buy AMD videocard was my mistake, never do this again.

Yes, what i also noticed that almost everyone experiencing TDRs in this game has a 7800X3D cpu, i tried to install my gpu to my old intel system on 12700kf and it's not crashing, i didn't apply anything, i left the overlay working, vcore on stock settings and core freq is boosting up to 2900

my CPU is 13700KF on aorus z690 ultra  and as you can see - crash non stop. Another joke, i got monster hunter world installed on PC. So on driver 24.8.1 game works fine - stable and smooth. And you know what?  On  beta version 24.20.11.01 that i was trying for Space Marine  2 - monster hunter started crashing on loading screen. Driver AMD freeze screen.  I delete this beta driver and do clean install 24.8.1 and it fixed monster hunter...So whatever AMD doing probably means - they already broke something. Yes its an old game but still its mean that some games after "space marine 2 fix" will crash... How? Why?
