Hello, 

Today I received my new 7800xt graphics card. I had an Nvidia 3070 previously. So I uninstalled Nvidia and all the other software from the company, with the DDU tool so as not to forget anything. I installed my new card and launched the installation of adrenalin version 23.9.1 the drivers are installed correctly since my resolution has changed and my second screen lights up with the desktop (proof that the installation was done correctly ) moreover the software is present in the taskbar but the software whose icon appears disappears once you click on it. Also impossible to launch the software. I tried to reinstall several times with version 23.9.2 but the problem persists and after 5 hours of trying to install my new graphics card I admit that I give up.

If you have a solution or a similar problem I am interested.

I solve my problem this weekend.

I reset windows and reinstall the 23.9.1 and it's work after that i download in the software the 23.9.2 and still working.

It's a bit hard but it work for me .

Hey AMD: FYI the Bug isn't fixed.

Last working Adrenaline Version 23.9.1.

Your Adrenalin Frontend does not start.

Again no mention in Known Bugs section of 23.11.1 (same as 10.x and 9.x).

Please advice how to proceed, or are we supposed to go ahead and give team green a try?

You have already tried using DDU to remove old drivers, so the best I can do is tell you to report your issue here since Adrenalin isn't launching https://www.amd.com/en/forms/contact-us/support.html

Yes, but during this time I can't use my computer properly. For a news card... it's a joke... first time I've had a problem of this level, I'm very disappointed with AMD.

I have the same issue, upgraded from a 5700xt to a 7800xt. Both 23.9.1 and 23.9.2 fails, DDU or amdcleanup in safe mode or normal mode have not worked.

Do you mean using the two do not remove the old drivers?

I can remove the drivers, but reinstalling them do not solve the issue of Adrenalin not opening.

Try restarting the PC a couple times. I have had some situations where Adrenalin wouldn't open on the first boot after updating my drivers.

I just installed 23.9.3 on my Ryzen 9 3900X with a 5700XT and it works just as all other versions have.  Although I haven't used that machine for a few weeks and missed getting the 23.9.  & 23.9.2 in my database for the 5700XT. 

However when I installed 23.9.1 on my Ryzen 5 5600 with RX 480 they did not function well at all.  When I set custom tuning and told it to apply those settings, which ran flawlessly in 23.8.1, I got a black screen and shutdown.  Yea, just powered the system OFF. 

So I thought 23.9.2 would solve the problem but got the same result.  

So i then looked to see if 23.9.3 would fix the issue, but it was not tagged for the RX 480.  I'm going to guess that they will also remove the 23.9.2 drivers for the 480.  I am going to assume that the RX 580 will likely have the same problem of incompatibility.

This sounds like a completely different issue than the one reported in this topic.

AFAIK, both the 23.9.2 and 23.9.3 have  drivers for polaris, try using the auto download tool but discuss this in another topic.

Hi, I made a post on this very topic, but it was marked as spam. my 580 also crashes when I try to apply the settings, installed 23.7, did a downvolt, saved the profile and only then returned to 23.9.2 and loaded the profile with the settings. no other way.

Hey dude... Go to the drivers page and download 23.8.2 instead. There is a bug with 23.9.2 people are finding that they cannot start Adrenalin at all for some reason with 23.9.2, Me included. I have a 7900XT on windows 11. I have never had this before and I Upgrade every single time there is a new WHQL driver. This is the first time so this is not typical at all. I used DDU to clean and go back to 23.8.2 and it is perfect again. I think there is a screw up with the 23.9.2's. To get the 23.8.2 driver go to the drivers page and scroll down and look for a link that says previous driver. Get it from there. I recommend you use DDU (Safe Mode Option) to wipe these.

i updated to new version 23.9.2 and amd adrenaline just dissapeared. **bleep**

but bug with game profiles tune not fixed, cant tune memory speed

At least you got it going. I cannot get 23.9.2 top open Adrenalin. Unless they post something I will wait until the next one.

Going back to 23.9.1 works fine, clearly something wrong with 23.9.2+ on some machine GPU/monitor/CPU/OS configs. 

Issue on my 7900 XTX with 5800X3D with Samsung G9 windows 11

My Son's 6900XT  with regular 5800X /win 11 with LG monitor works fine. So it seems certain machine configs not working for a lot of people.

For users unable to launch AMD Software after installing 23.9.2, please try downloading the full 23.9.3 pacakge. You can download it here.

If you experience the same issue with 23.9.3, please can you provide the following information.

• GPU Make and Model
• OS Build
• Please describe how you download and install the AMD Software package. For example, do you download the full package from the AMD website, do you update the driver directly via AMD Software, are you using the AMD Auto Detect Tool, etc?

Hi Matt,

I just went ahead and used AMD Cleanup utility to remove any previous drivers I had, then installed the full package from the link you provided. Still no luck with Adrenaline though.

-Tried installing with full standalone RDNA package 23.9.2 and 23.9.3 with prior cleaning with amd cleanup utility and DDU. Also tried upgrade method from 23.9.1 to 23.9.2 using adrenalin software, both methods produce same issue of adrenalin software not opening. You can notice the task bar icon appear for a brief second and then disappear as if it attempted to load, had a silent error, and then closed.

Did not work for me. I am a tech and I build aproximately 5 systems a year. I have tried DDU Safe Mode to remove the drivers, reboot and reinstall. .2 and .3 do not work for me at all and same as the OP, Adrenalin will not load unless I go back to 23.8.2. 

Regardless of UPGRADE from within 23.8.2 or wipe and reinstall of drivers from website. Have used DDU Safemode and AMD Cleanup Utility in my attempts and I get the same results.

23.9.2 and 23.9.3 do not work per the OP Post and my own personal post on here.

I submitted a bug report and contacted amd support for this issue, are those venues sufficient for AMD to obtain the files?

Hi Matt, thanks for coming back on this. Case number is 00399405  and with the report tool I believe it's  20230921T153701 (it's the file name of the generated .zip file). I guess I just have to answer the last email with the files then?

Matt_AMD, I have finally some goods news

For what is worth, the AFMF technical preview 1)  printed me this error

2) failed with error 1603 with some path messages.

I found that very strange, so I just ran the installer again: no errors on install this time.

And the good news: adrenalin opens on the AFMF preview driver!! Finally.

I wonder if the true workaround is simply to run the installer twice, or is simply some packaging issue from the official ones that the preview drivers avoids.

I am able to provide some logs as well (new Built / a few weeks old Win11 Installation with a 7800XT Sapphire Pulse and AMD 5800x3D).

Is there some way to send them in using mail etc. instead of the public forum? I do not have a support case where I can attach them.
