Maxon has released Service Pack 2 (SP2) for Cinema 4D Release 19, expanding support and greatly improving Radeon™ ProRender performance on Mac systems, according to Maxon.

Radeon ProRender is a powerful physically-based rendering engine that enables creative professionals to produce stunningly photorealistic images. Radeon ProRender is fully integrated in Maxon Cinema 4D, the first commercial 3D application with an integrated GPU path-tracing renderer based on the OpenCL® open standard. Radeon ProRender technology is seamlessly integrated into Release 19 with support for Cinema 4D’s standard materials, lights and cameras.

Cinema 4D R19 SP2 brings greater overall performance to Radeon ProRender on Mac systems, improving stability while rendering and improving stability with multi-GPUs. Check out the improvements and bug fixes of Radeon ProRender in the SP2 update here.

What’s more, Radeon ProRender is now the first production renderer to support Apple’s Metal® 2 API in the recent SP2 update to the macOS version of Cinema 4D R19, as well as in our macOS plug-ins for Blender and Maya, maximizing the potential of GPU-accelerated rendering on macOS.

Radeon ProRender offers cross platform support, supporting AMD GPUs and CPUs as well as those of other vendors, the common denominator that they are running OpenCL®. Radeon ProRender harnesses both GPU and CPU performance for swift, impressive results.

Fast. Easy. Incredible. Learn more about Radeon ProRender.
