What AMD chipset can I upgrade to?

Hi,
I have a four-year-old AMD computer that I wish to upgrade the processor. I want to understand which processors are compatible with the current motherboard. Can I get some advice on where to go to determine this? Any upgrade advice would be helpful.  What's the fastest chip we can drop into the current MB or are we better off getting a new motherboard and chip.  The goal is faster processing time for video renders.

Processor = AMD FX-4300 3.8 GHz
Processor Main Features
64 bit Quad-Core Processor
Cache Per Processor
8 MB L3 Cache
Motherboard is 760 G chipset

Thanks!

Your motherboard manufacturer will have a list of supported processors for that model, just do a search for it. Easiest way is to open Run (Windows key + R), type msinfo32, press enter, and look at the Baseboard Product line. You can also use a free program called Speccy.

Based on what you've told us so far, this would be the page to go to as it lists all available chipset updates for that specific chipset.  It appears that the last update for that chipset was in september 2018.

Thank you for the info.  I did some more digging - the motherboard is old.  Here is a link to the the motherboard compatible chips below.  Now my question is: Which of these compatible chips is the fastest?  I believe they are all a generation or 2 behind Ryzen:
