Ryzen 7 7800x3d installation

Hello everyone. I built my pc with the r5 7600 and I today my 7800x3d was shipped.

what all do I need to do to prepare for the upgrade? I am already on the most chipset driver and current MSI bios for my mobo.

I’ve seen gamersnexus say a fresh windows install is needed if going between x3d CPUs. Do I need to do that going from the 7600 to the 7800x3d?

what about drivers? I saw there was a driver for the 7800x3d under “processors with graphics” or something similar. Will I be able to get that driver after installing the 7800x3d?

ive been searching for a video about upgrading to that cpu from my cpu but cant find one

As you have the most current BIOS and chipset driver you are good to go. If you are using the integrated graphics of the CPU, the current Adrenalin driver you are using for your 7600 will also work for the 7800X3D.

There are some recommended setup tips when using the dual-CCD 7900X3D and 7950X3D because only one of the CCD chiplets has the extra 3D cache, so thread assignment becomes important to avoid cross-CCD latency. These do not apply to the single-CCD 7800X3D.
