Ryzen 5 1400 no post after BIOS updates

Hi,

when I originally bought my Ryzen 5 1400 (about a year ago) I paired it with an ASUS PRIME B350M-A. After updating the BIOS the system didn't start anymore (no speaker beeps or any display, just fans running).

All recovery options failed and ASUS support concluded that the board must have been bricked during flashing.

I then switched to a Gigabyte GA-AB350M-Gaming 3 which was running fine for a year, without having updated the BIOS.

When I finally did update the BIOS recently from F3 to F23d the system didn't start anymore (only difference to ASUS: it keeps restarting every few seconds). Dual BIOS didn't help in recovering it and Gigabyte support concludes the board must be bricked. The replacement board I get is much newer, presumably with a recent BIOS version, and doesn't start at all either!

Is my CPU somehow broken despite running just fine for a year right until the BIOS update? Have you heard of any other cases like this?
