Metro Exodus issue with 7950x3d chip

So i've recently upgraded my CPU from a 5900x to a 7950x3d

All my other games are fine so far but I come across one annoying issue with the Metro Exodus enhanced edition, the game had Audio dropping out slightly & also had stutters making it unplayable basically

I have noticed lots of ppl having the same issues with the 7950x3d on that particular game & the only way to fix is it to go into Power plan options and change the plan to "High Performance" then once you load up the game it's smooth again ??

So i'm posting this to help solve it for now but also wondered why this is happening ?

I've got the latest chipset for the 7950x3d and done everything to it so was confused..

After upgrading to a Ryzen 9 7950x3d CPU, you've encountered issues with Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition, including audio dropouts and stutters. Many users with the same CPU have reported similar problems. Switching to the "High Performance" power plan temporarily resolves the issue, suggesting a connection between power management and the game's performance. This might be due to the game's optimization interacting with the CPU's behaviour under different power plans. Factors like game updates, driver updates, BIOS updates, and developer support could impact this behaviour. Keep an eye out for solutions from the game's developer and consider updates to drivers and system components for a more permanent fix.

Had similar issues found a steam post hope it helps GL.

Go to "C/User/Username/Saved Games/Metro Exodus and go to the final folder where you find the config file "user". In that file search for the line "r_enum_ssaa 10" and change it to "r_enum_ssaa 1". This step is the MOST IMPORTANT ONE. So if none of the other steps help you or might even do worse for you, definitely try out Step 8 above everything else.

Also be sure to set the config file to "read only", because otherwise it will reset when you launch the game next time.

Thanks for the reply, interesting I'll try this out later and see if that fixes it.

I'll report back to see if it does solve it outside the power plan
