2990wx + TridentZ 128GB 3200 RGB RAM doesn't work

This is full list of parts:

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/NLKsr6

When I insert all 128GB system keeps rebooting. When I change timing to 14-14-14-34, frequency to 2933 and voltage to 1.35 and only insert 4x 16 GB RAM, it boots.

I tried everything, but I can't make my system boot with 128GB RAM. I don't mind reducing frequency, although my RAM is 3200. I just want it to have 128GB RAM.

How can I do that? What am I missing?

hehe, now I'm a bit jealous

Well I did a check of your MB, it does NOT support this memory on that frequency with that capacity.

On 3200 Mhz it supports max. 32GB in 4 x 8 GB

On lower frequency's it does support 128 GB.

This is said in the qualified vendor list from your MB.

Do you have the latest bios on it ? Did you do a bios reset ?

You could try when using the 3000 Mhz setting or lower of your RAM to set the bios so all lanes will use this frequency and after that insert the rest of the memory. I know it was possible to do that on older MB but do not know how it is with yours.

Otherwise you should return the memory and get the 2933 Mhz version, there is no guarantee that more than 2933 Mhz works with AMD processors, you can try but also fail,...

newtopcbuilding, with that much memory you have a quad memory load  (quad rank) on the bus and it is very unlikely to boot.  Please get the free utility (Thaiphoon Burner) and you will see.  It will also tell you what chips are used.  Samsung B-Die chips will run faster than most but probably not 3200 MHz at 128 GB.  Here are my specifications and my chips are B-Dies and do run 3200 MHz in my 1950X and 2990WX:

MSI X399 Creation, Threadripper 2990WX, 3xSamsung SSD 970 EVO RAID0, 4xSSD 960 EVO on

MSI AeroXpander RAID10, 1TB & 500 GB WD Black, G.SKILL Flare X F4-3200C14Q-32GFX,

Windows 10 x64 Pro, EnerMax-MaxTytan-EDT1250EWT, Enermx Liqtech TR4 280 CPU Cooler,

Radeon RX580, UEFI E7B92AMS.120, AGESA SummitPI-SP3r2-1.1.0.2

Please make sure you have the latest UEFI and hopefully AGESA 1.1.0.2 or higher.  G.Skill technical support and very good and will work with you.  Enjoy,  John.
