XMP ram compatibility with ryzen 5 5700f

Hello everyone,

I recently purchased a new CPU, mobo and ram to upgrade my pc. I would like to request some help regarding the compatibility between these component, i have some doubts about the RAM's XMP profile and their max speed. The components i bought are :

  • B650 Steel Legend WIFI
  • Ryzen 5 7500f
  • 2x8Gb Corsair Vengeance DDR5 6000Mhz

My main concern is the compatibility of the RAM as it only supports the XMP profile, and the max memory speed of the cpu is 5200MHz. I was wondering if i might encounter stability or performance problem if i enable the XMP profile from BIOS at 6000MHz.

Thanks you in advance for the support,

Best regards

I believe XMP or EXPO is determined by the Motherboard itself if it supports those OC standards.

That is why you need to look at the QVL list for RAM to see if it mentions if XMP or EXPO or both are supported.

Best way to find out is by enabling XMP or EXPO in BIOS and see if the PC boots up and doesn't have any crashes unless in the QVL List is mentions a specific OC standard like XMP or just EXPO.

Seems like your Motherboard supports both since it just says the RAM is verified for Overclocking without mentioning any specific OC Standard like XMP or EXPO.

but just assuming from looking at the QVL List. Best bet is to open a ASRock SUPPORT Ticket and ask them directly.

EDIT: By your Ram Part Number it indicates your purchased a set of 2x16GB RAM for a total of 32GB.

So you actually have 2 sticks of RAM with 16GB of RAM Memory in each stick.

Thanks for the support, i will open a new ticket just to make sure.

Going to ASRock Support for your Motherboard QVL List for RAM for the 7000 series CPUs here are all the Corsair RAM part Number that have been shown to be compatible with your hardware: https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/B650%20Steel%20Legend%20WiFi/#MemoryRAP

I don't see 8GB RAM sets from Corsair.  I would go to Corsair Support and see if the RAM part Number you bought is compatible with your new ASRock Motherboard or CPU or open a ASRock Support ticket and ask them if they believe your RAM is compatible or not.

All on the QVL List for RAM Corsair RAM Memory is verified for Overclocking (XMP or EXPO).

NOTE: I do see that Kingston does have 8 GB RAM Sets @ 6000MTS speed that are compatible. But most seems to support 16GB RAM Sets or higher.

EDIT: Just because your RAM isn't listed doesn't mean it isn't compatible. If you already purchased the RAM and CPU and Motherboard install the RAM and see if it boots up or not or see if you get a RAM Trouble/Digital Error.

thanks, the code product is CMH32GX5M2B6000C30W and is in the list so i just assume the 16Gb refer to the 2x8Gb.

So motherboard side the compatibility looks fine, what about cpu and ram? Still dont get it the EXPO/XMP compatibility. I mean if the cpu support EXPO why i can use XMP and the max memory speed listened in the cpu specification is just the optimal one?
