When is CPU performance upgrade coming to Win10?

Exactly what header says: When is AMD's performance upgrade coming to Win10 22H2? It doesn't make sense for AMD to support a minority OS version, which is extremely user unfriendly (Win11) and not support version with majority in windows marketshare (Win10).

So, when will be support available?

jsebela, I find W11 as friendly as 10. You should try it. This is a user forum and does not in any way represent AMD. I certainly cannot answer your question. Please as MS; good luck.

John.

1)TPM requirement of Win11 is extremely user unfriendly (friendly for authors mafia though), user interface changes are great bother too, not mentioning built-in spyware and ad-ware.

2)User forum which does not represent AMD is placed at community.amd.com?

3)Actually, with Windows marketshare, it is other way around:

2) YES!

Win 10 is currently scheduled for end of support next year. At some point you'll either need to upgrade or opt to pay for extended support or risk going without updates.

But good news! You can get the same benefit now, without waiting for Microsoft to update Win 10 (bets on that happening?) just use the local administrator account, problem solved!

If you don't want to use the local administrator account for security reasons, (but also don't like the Win 11 trusted platform module?) take consolation it's low single digit percentage improvements.

Also note that the local administrator account has been disabled by default since Windows Vista, so this is hardly a new problem! This only came to light as a result of AMD grasping at straws to explain Zen5's lackluster performance improvement over Zen4.

I totally get your frustration—Windows 10 is still the go-to for many users. Unfortunately, AMD hasn’t provided a specific timeline for when their performance upgrades will be available for Windows 10 22H2. It seems their focus has been on optimizing for Windows 11, which might be where they're seeing more demand for newer tech.

In the meantime, you might want to keep an eye on driver updates from AMD or check their official forums for any announcements. It’s also worth reaching out directly to AMD support to see if they can provide any insights or a roadmap for future updates.

Let’s hope they address this soon!

Microsoft owns and releases Windows. They have said publicly that 22H2 is the FINAL version of W10 (all over the Internet). Beat them up.

Release Preview Channel 22H2 (10.0.19045.4842) (August 22, 2024) [±] Beta Channel 22H2 (10.0.19045.4842) (August 22, 2024) [±] You might try this one

There is only a little over a year left of support for W10.

Well, MS has a PROBLEM. 13 month before support of 22H2 reaches its end, the Win10 still have more than twice as many users than Win11. Even gamers (according to steam hw survey) still use more Win10 (50.16%) than Win11(45.81%).

And Valve still works on/is improving their Proton Linux distribution.

A lot people just don't like Win11 and won't go for it even after October 14th 2025. After all, only free security updates end. They will either pay up those 60+USD, download them somewhere else, go for linux/proton or will stay on Win10 anyway. Why do you think Win7 still has a 3 % marketshare?
Win11 just brings way more negatives than positives.

Some people will convert, but nowhere enough for MS to not have a huge problem.

Have you told MS? Tell AMD here. John.
