Hey guys, I need your help since I'm a bit lost.
English isn't my native language so forgive any nonsense I might say.
Before I start:
Bios is up to date, Chipset drivers are up to date and no OC/Undvervolt/anything has been done. It's an out of the box thing.
So, I've recently installed my new 5700X3D (had a 5700X previously, still a nice upgrade gaming wise) and while everything works fine, I'm a bit surprised at the clock speed when idle.
Temps are fine (35 degrees Celsius on idle, room temp is 27) and the boost is around the expected 4050/4100MHz while gaming. As far as I know, base clock speed should be around 3000MHz but for me, the CPU stays at 3600 (all cores).
Like I said, I haven't done anything other than installing the CPU, but the 3600MHz was the base clock of the previous CPU I had (5700X), so I'm starting to wonder if maybe something is wrong with my Motherboard.
I'm a noob and I usually don't touch anything. Bios is basically default with only XMP profile applied.
I have not notice any weird behaviour, crash or instability and temperatures are fine, so maybe it's a "nothing burger" but I'm still worried it could harm the CPU after a while (voltage might be too high but I don't know anything about those things).
I'll try to share a screenshot of my HWMonitor, if I can.
Thank you!
dante, post all your components and a screenshot of Ryzen Master (RM). Did you install a fresh copy of Windows including formatting your C: disk on a GPT formatted drive? John.
HWMonitor is identifying the processor incorrectly, it reports 5700X at the top, not X3D.
The version history log does not list any version for the 5700X3D, even most current 1.54

Have you tried HWiNFO?
Thanks, FunkZ. As you know I recommend that using HWinfo is just asking for poor results. John.
Thank you all for the replies!
I'll try HWINFO to see if it works better.
I have to say though that CPU-Z (which recognises my CPU properly) also shows 3.6X multiplier and 3600MHz clock speed when Idle.
I've posted the same message on Reddit and some 5700X3D users told me they had the same clock speed when Idle so maybe I've been overthinking the whole thing.
As for misterj (John) message, I have not install a fresh copy of Windows (the PC itself is only a year old) or formatted my SSD. Since it was just a CPU upgrade I didn't see the point (never had any issue before).
My temps are fine and everything works as intended so I guess it's a non-issue really, but I never had such a gap between the "advertised" base clock and the actual clock when Idle.
I just thought I would ask in case something was wrong with voltage or anything, since I'm not super knowledgeable on the matter.
dante, the age of your system is not relevant. Do a Clear CMOS and post a screen of Ryzen Master at idle. John.
