Unlock the number of cores and threads in Ryzen 9 5900HX

Hello,

When it comes to virtualization, everyone that works in IT know that having only 16 virtual cores is not too good if you are creating a lab with 6 or 10 machines for example.

I would like to know if there is any possibility to unlock the number of cores and threads in Ryzen 9 5900HX, so that I can have 8 cores x 16 threads, totalizing the number of 128 virtual CPUs.

According to TechPowerUp specs: https://www.techpowerup.com/cpu-specs/ryzen-9-5900hx.c2371

I don't understand, actually, your question because your Windows image is showing 8 cores and 16 threads already or am I misreading your post?

According to AMD Specs on your Mobile Processor it does seem to have a BIOS setting to change the TDP rating from it default 45 watts:

Default TDP
45+W
AMD Configurable TDP (cTDP)
35-54W

# of CPU Cores
8
# of Threads
16

Higher TDP ratings means more power to the CPU but will run hotter but with better performance.

What do you mean by "any possibility to unlock the number of cores and threads in Ryzen 9 5900HX, so that I can have 8 cores x 16 threads,"

If by any chance your Mobile processor is locked with less than 8 cores & 16 threads than you need to go to your Laptop Support and see if that can be unlocked so that it uses all 8 cores and 16 threads.

But your Windows image seems to indicate that it is using all 8 cores and 16 threads.

NOTE: You might want to try a Ryzen Master clone for Laptops called Ryzen Controller and see if that might help change some parameters to your mobile Ryzen processor: https://ryzencontroller.com/
