Hi, I have a asus tuf a17 2023 with a ryzen 7 7735hs and an rtx 4060. When gaming, my cpu goes every time up to more than 92degree. If I do a cpu stress test, it instantly go up to 95 which is the temp limit and lead to a thermal throttling. The vents are not clogged and the fan are clean. I'm in performance mod in Armoury create. My bios is at his latest version and everything else is up to date. That kind weird bcs that is not a particularly powerful cpu and in a 17inch, it should be well cooled but it's not the case. Btw the gpu is fine, like 80-85deg max during gaming or stress test. Any advice ?
(Sorry for my english I'm french)
Here after a just 1min of furemark cpu stress test :
The cpu have reeached the thermal limit
Thranduil, I know nothing about Armoury but I suspect it is doing some overclocking (OC). Try doing a Clear CMOS and see if the temperatures come down. I have a tendency not to trust free utilities but I do not think you can install Ryzen Master on your processor. Please try to install RM. You could also try AIDA64. It has a 30 day free trial. Throttling is not a problem. My old Ryzen throttles every time I run Cinebench. Thanks and enjoy, John.
I can't do a clear CMOS on my laptop without removing the motherboard. Why ryzen master is for ? I don't think Armoury creat is doing any oc, in performance mod, CPU and GPU are limited to a certain amonth of watt
Thranduil, in general, RM is not supported for mobile processors. Here is a screenshot of my Old Ryzen. Can you update your BIOS? If your processor only occasionally hits 95C you should be OK. Enjoy,John.
The bios is at version 320 which is the lastest for a17 707NV. 95c is hits sometimes in gaming and heavy CPU load.
Thranduil, OK, so you can update the BIOS to the same version to get a fresh copy which will, in effect do a Clear CMOS. Did you build this machine? If not, I would suggest replacing the paste my well void your warranty. If it is a retail system, see if the retailer will replace it or repair it to your liking. Here are your processor specifications. Thanks and enjoy, John.
I will do that soon. It's a laptop, I've send it to Asus for a audio issue and the motherboard have been changed. The stickers on the screw have already been touch so they can't tell if I open it or not. It's was brand new and I could replace the thermal past if I can't find anything else.
First about the operating temperature and TDP rating of your mobile processor:
Armoury Crate is the tuning utility of choice on any given ASUS/TUF/RoG PC, Laptop or even a phone.
If you set it to performance then its pushing the computer to its limits, which is normal. I would do what Elstaci suggested and try a cooling pad. Don't forget, ambient temperature also plays a great deal on the overall system temperature.
Good Luck
I have a cooling pad. I can change the tdp by changing the mod : silent, performance and turbo. I think it's 35w-45w-54w. Even in performance mode, the cpu hit 95c. I'm thinking replace the thermal past or put liquid metal, but i'm not sur if my cooling is compatible with this thing.
