Ryzen 5600x 100%, RTX3070 not loaded

Screenshot 2024-03-08 184830.jpgHi, I have a desktop with a Ryzen 5 5600x proc and a RTX3070 CGU. When i use for example Topaz AI Video i see the CPU going to 100% but quite nothing happen on the RTX3070, about 20% load only. I have checked the settings of Topaz and the CGU is activated. Is that normal and should i upgrade my CPU or is there something else to check in order to lower the cpu usage and increase the RTx usage ?

bemo47, please post a screenshot of Ryzen Master (RM) running Cinebench R24. We do not know what Windows is reporting but RM tells us exactly. What is your observation? Is the Application slow? Thanks and Enjoy, John.

I googled your problem with Topaz AI Video and it seems to be a fairly common issue that the CPU seems to be the main graphic's processing unit rather than the GPU card.

Here is Topaz AI Video Minimum System Requirements: https://docs.topazlabs.com/photo-ai/system-requirements

Here are some previous threads mainly from Reddit and Topaz Labs Forums:

What is interesting is all the above links concerns a AMD processor with a Nvidia RX GPU card.

I would suggest you open a Topaz Lab thread and also have a "Live Chat" with Topaz Support and see if they have any suggestions to fix your issue.

Note: have you tried Windows Settings - Graphics to make Topaz AI use the "High Performance" GPU which is your GPU card to run that program?

I have installed MSIAfterburner and the graphics seems to show that the GPU is used far more than waht said by Task manager. We can see about 60/80 % usage for GPU whislt CPU was at 80/100%.

So maybe all is ok ? And that's just my CPU that could bhe upgraded ?

I will run the RM Cinebecnh as asked above too.

Without knowing your Motherboard's Make & Model I can't answer your question. But just go to your Motherboard's CPU LIST and see what other newer or more powerful processors your motherboard supports.

Need to be aware to check the Motherboard's QVL LIST FOR RAM MEMORY to make sure the current RAM you have installed will be compatible with the upgraded processor. Or go to the RAM manufacturer's site and check their QVL List to see if it is support by your new processor if you decide to go in that direction.

At the end of each processor in the CPU LIST will show you which Motherboard BIOS version you need to have installed for the new processor to be recognized and to boot up.

some elements from cinebench run, in progress, firsts scrennshotsScreenshot 2024-03-09 005958.jpgScreenshot 2024-03-09 010014.jpgScreenshot 2024-03-09 010102.jpg

We can see here that MSIAFter says GPU usage 80%+ and Task Manager at same time says 6%, sio i think my issue was only that.... wrong indication from Task Manager i guess....

Please confirm if i am right.

But upgrading to Ryzen 9 5950X could be a good operation for my desktop maybe ?

bemo47, I am not familiar with these other measures. I need to see RM screenshot running CB R24 multi-core only. Thanks and enjoy, John.
