Ryzen 5 5600x temp problem

i'm having issues (well i think i am, but my friends keep saying im fine, but i dont believe them) with my cpu temps. i have been watching them like a hawk for like a year now and i used to idle as low as 35c, but now i am idling in the 60s, with no games open. i'm talking chrome, disc, battle.net, spotify, steam, nothing else. as i type this now i'm at 65c. when i open wow, or dota 2, my temps while loading the game spike up into the 80s, which has never happened before, and then while playing the game, they are steady in the 70s.
now, i of course understand that wow is a cpu intenstive game and that will cause higher temps, but maybe less than 6 months ago, say 3-4months, while loading up wow/playing wow, i would hover between 50-60c, so it is just concerning to me on why it has increased like that. i also pay attention to the average temp on my cpu in hwinfo, and a few weeks ago my average was 50c (over about 300hours), but now its at 59c, as of the last 64 hours.

about a month or so ago i decided to take off the front panel of my case, and it seemed to help my temps go back down (they were what they are now, but after taking the front panel off it went down for a few weeks til it started happening again) i'm just unsure on how to really fix it, i only repasted a year ago, is it really possible i'll have to repaste that often? i'm assuming its either my cooler or maybe the air flow in the case? anyone have any ideas on how to fix this, or maybe tell me that my friends are right? lol

Id go with the cooler, do you have the wraith air cooler that comes with the 5600X ? Chuck it on and see what happens to your temps, id be very surprised if you didnt see an improvement

No, I picked out all the parts on NZXT's website and they pre-built it and shipped it out to me, I don't have the wraith cooler that comes w/ the cpu.

So everyone is thinking its my cooler? I think it is too. I'm just not sure.

I had a Ryzen 5 5600X on my previous build cooled by an EVGA CLC240, temps never went above 35degrees at idle 50 degrees when gaming with core boost on

I also recommend getting the cooler checked. If you feel comfortable doing it yourself try checking if the pump is properly attached to the socket and try to search for whining/grinding noises coming from it.

You can also try just applying new thermal paste and securing the cooler firmly again if no noises are heard.
