Ram speed

Hey,

I want to buy a new system but I am confused because of the ram speeds. On AMD's product page they state that the max memory speed is 5200mhz for the 7800x3d. 2x1R DDR5-5200 & 2x2R DDR5-5200. If this is true, why are people going out there way and buy 6000mhz ram? I am a little confused here. What I know is that the ram speed is limited by the cpu so why are people buying faster ram? Super confused here..

There is what is official support and there is EXPO.

EXPO is considered a form of Overclocking. If you want to take advantage of the extra speed and performance, please confirm if the memory you are buying is on the board QVL.
