Hi,
I've bought an Alienware M16 R1 AMD machine with RX7600M XT GPU, and it has this CPU:
AMD says it runs with 5200 MHz of RAM speed, but Alienware says 4800 MHz. Is there a datasheet from AMD what the minimum speed is?
Is there an option in the BIOS to turn on XMP/EXPO?
No, but 5200 MHz is detected if I install it. But I have strange problems that the monitor is not detected after Lock Screen. I don’t know if it’s a driver or ram problem.
edit: I bought 64GB 4800 MHz ram and the problems persists.
Typically you set RAM speed in BIOS. If it is detecting th 5200mhz kit and in task manager it states 5200mhz then it is running at that speed.
For the monitor situation, is the display on the laptop working?
Yes, after I unlock windows the laptop screen is working. But the external screen is not listed anymore until I reboot the machine. If I not login after reboot and the screen goes in sleep the screen will work but after I logged in work whole day and Lock Screen, 10 minutes later the screen is gone. I also tried all connections, hdmi, mini dp and usb c to dp.
Are you using the drivers provided by Alienware or have you updated to more current drivers directly from AMD?
Today I installed the newest AMD Graphic driver - and deleted some security baselines from intune and today the first time after two hours the screen keeps connected and detected - finger cross.
