I bought a brand new FX-8350 about a year ago and I've been having severe FPS drops in many games where it shouldn't happen.
My rig is: cpu: FX-8350
mobo: Asus m5a78l-m plus usb3
RAM: 8gb hyperx
Graphics: MSI Nvidia Geforce Gtx 1060 6gb
Case: Corsair Carbide 400c (with four fans)
Storage: 1TB HDD Western Digital
PSU: Sentey 750w 80 plus bronze
I bought the cpu back in may, 2017, and started having these issues by October 2017. I'm talking about drastic fps drops in games that run like butter normally. The two most annoying examples are GTA V (runs without any problems at +60 fps in any settings) where the fps fall to 15, mostly while driving cars. The other game is Warframe, where the same thing happens, except there are no cars. I turned off the turboboost feature after a friend told me he had similar issues with a similar processor. I have the stock cooler for the cpu and have never changed the original thermal paste. I was thinking of upgrading to ryzen but I'm financially disabled right now. What's the best solution?
