For the first time in AMD
Hello all!
My whole life I was INTEL, but now I moved to AMD and I have a Ryzen 7 7800X3D at this point and I'm happy
And I have a question.
I'm on idle mode, and the processor is cold, about 42/43º. But suddenly he goes for the 61º and the Watercooler fans start spinning almost 100% for two seconds and comes back to normal, it doesn't always happen.
In the task manager I don't see anything out of normal.
I also find that this happens when I am sometimes downloading a game via Steam or Epic Games.
With my previous i7 8700k processor I didn't notice that. Or if it happened, the Watercooler fans did not make all that noise. (the Watercooler is another and not the same as it utilized with Intel).
So I wanted to ask if this is normal
Thanks

piQmi, this is probably Windows if that is normal. Ryzen when given a task by the OS, aggressively speeds up to complete the task. Apparently your previous experience did not do this. The maximum temperature for the 7800X3D is 89C. Enjoy, John.

maybe change the fan curve?
There should certainly be instructions for this on the manufacturer's support page 😉

Perhaps it isn't necessary!
That's not always happening, and it seems, it's a normal thing. I didn't know, but @misterj already clarified.
I have noticed that sometimes Windows is downloading updates and the attendance increases and consequently the temperature of the CPU.
