Do I need a fresh install if I'm moving my hdd (win10) from a Phenom II x4 machine to a Ryzen 5 machine?

I want to know it it's possible to move hdd from the Phenom II x4 machine to the Ryzen 5 machine without a fresh install.

You need a fresh install when moving to Ryzen.

Absolutely!  zingwing, using a clone or moving a boot drive to a new system is almost guaranteed to lead to strange, weird and many problems.  Certainly not worth the saved few minutes and many hours of debug.  Enjoy, John.
