Hey f0lks
I wanted to test the performance of a Ryzen 7 5800x because I've had it lying around for a while while installing a new AiO.
Unfortunately, the display doesn't get a signal and the MB doesn't show an error message via debug-led.
All fans rotate normally and the LEDs on the RAM (Vengeance RGB Pro 3200 8gb in slot A2) also lights up with standard colors.
You can also feel this on the chipset cooler, graphics and CPU heatsinks warm up slightly.
I also tested it with two different displays via HDMI & DP, as well as with different cables.
The keyboard on different USB slots (usb 2.0/3.1 cpu/3.1 chipset)
--> the keyboard rgb just lights up once shortly after switching on, not continuously as usual.
I also tried it with 2 different graphics cards: A AMD RX 6800 and an NV GTX 1660 that I actually have lying around for just such cases
that a new cpu is b1tching around with newer graphiccards on first boot ...
Previously the same CPU (5800x) was installed with 2x16gb DDR4 3600 Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro SL sticks!!!
Last year i i already had a long fight vs the MB to get the other 5800x (new) running on the
new MSI x570 Gaming Plus.
I bought the current test CPU used, but i see 'em running (including Cinebench 5min loop)
in the original system when I picked it up. No pins were bent or touched directly +
i already cleaned the pin side with 100% isopropanol and blown dry the pins with a hand pump
(extra for electronic components) and then I left the CPU for a while so that any possible remaining liquid could dry off
Even after I let the computer run for 30 minutes, nothing happened
CPU cooler doesn't have too much contact pressure either -> cpu already get reseated and the boxed cooler (incl paste)
just seated on the cpu without screw pressure to exclude this cause of error
Unfortunately, I'm slowly running out of advice as to what else could be the problem.
The CPU has never received any shocks or anything similar and was stored in a original cpu packaging at room temperature.
Current BIOS version is 7C37vAL2 (beta version) from June 13th, 2023 (msi.com) which the other
R7 5800x before was operated daily for the last months without any problems.
CMOS reset has also been done 3 or 4 times already
Does anyone else have an idea what the problem could be?
