Can you replace a AMD E-Series processor with a AMD A-Series processor?

I currently own a desktop with a E2-6110 processor. I want to upgrade my processor to an AMD A-Series processor, but I'm not sure the two are compatible. Can you use an AMD A-Series processor in a slot built for an AMD E-Series processor?

Terribly sorry if the answer is obvious, this is my first time messing around with computer hardware more complicated than "plug this into port X and follow the driver install instructions'. Thanks for the help.

The support page for your motherboard will have a list of which CPUs are compatible. If it is a prefab OEM unit, such as and HP or Dell, then your upgrade options are very limited, and possibly nonexistent.

E-Series processors are soldered to the motherboard, and cannot be replaced easily.
