Can I substitute an RX 580 for an R9 270? I bought the 580 as a replacement for the 270 and I've plugged everything in the same and I'm getting no display on the monitor. I guess the question is, are they similar enough to substitute one for the other. Th

I plugged the 580 in and I'm getting no display. Is there an incapability that would prevent one from substituting for the other? Thanks,

It should be similar enough to work but not the ideal method.

Is the 580 brand new? If it's not, try it in another machine.

IDEALLY you will put the 270 back in,  install DDU, run DDU in safemode with the option to clean and shut down.

unplug computer from power

change gpu

plug monitor into gpu port

Restart

Install latest driver.

Restart
