As I understand 8400F has 20 PCI lanes which is more than Ryzen 5 8500G but less than a Ryzen 5 7600. I will be using a B650 motherboard. Also if it can run a GPU in x16  does it have enough PCI lanes to run GPU in X16 and a M2 SSD?

The 8400F has 20 PCIe lanes but only 16 are available as 4 are reserved for the DMI link to the chipset.

Further as @elstaci points out, only 8 lanes can be accessed by the PCIe graphics slot as this is a limitation on all Phoenix processors (8700G, 8600G, etc.) of which the 8400F is in the same family.

This leaves 8 PCIe lanes remaining which can be used for two x4 M.2 drives if available on the motherboard.

You can google all the B650 Motherboards and read its specs to determine if it answers your question.

Looking at a couple of B650 Motherboard specs it mentions Ryzen "G" processors will run at PCIe x 16 x 8 speed on the first PCIe x 16 slot (CPU).
