5700X won't POST

Non Functional System Setup

CPU: Ryzen 7 5700X

Mobo: AsRock x570 Pro4 (Running BIOS P3.40 from factory)

Attempted 3 RAM Configs:

  • G.Skill TridetZ F4-3600C17-16GTZ in A2/B2
  • G.Skill TridetZ F4-3600C17-16GTZ using 1 Stick in A2
  • Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK16GX4M2A2400C16 using 1 Stick in A2

GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1070 (not sure but it's probably the G1 Rev 1)

PSU: Seasonic Focus Gold 550 FM

System won't post. Dyagnostic lights for CPU and DRAM remain on. All fans and lights work.

I have achieved a boot into bios and windows using a ryzen 5 2600, using full system setup, and not just the bearbone setup. This configuration was used to verify Bios version.

You need to update your BIOS version from P3.40 to Version P4.30 for your PC to boot up.

BIOS Version P3.40 doesn't support Ryzen 5700X but any BIOS version P4.30 or newer will: https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/X570%20Pro4/index.asp#CPU

I see by the specs on your Motherboard it doesn't have in the rear the FLASH BIOS button which means you need to find a CPU that will work with BIOS Version P3.40 and manually update the BIOS to P4.30.

Once you have updated to the correct BIOS Version and it still doesn't boot up post back or just install one stick of RAM in DIMM Slot 2 and see if it boots up.

NOTE: Before updating to P4.30 it is very important that you read the YELLOW WARNING INSTRUCTIONS before updating from P3.40: https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/X570%20Pro4/index.asp#BIOS

Thanks for the answer, that's probably the issue

Unfortunately the system now won't post with the 2600, unlike before.  Diagnostic lights DRAM and cpu remain on. All fans spinning, all lights on. It has to be a new issue with the x570 pro4, cause everything ran fine on my old ab350 pro 4.

Yes, your old 2600 should work out of the box with your current BIOS Version installed.

Possibly you have one bad RAM stick.

Install the 2600 again with only just one RAM Stick and see if it boots into Windows even if you get no video output during POST or BIOS.

If it does have video Output during POST with one RAM stick then update the BIOS but first run MEMTEST64 to check your RAM before updating the BIOS.
