I checked on cpu-z, only 8 cores and 8 threads detected, SMT is disabled on my BIOS.

augustus810, why is SMT disabled?  Please tell us more about your system - MB, memory, etc.  I suggest you open UEFI/BIOS and set to default.  Enjoy, John.

EDIT: Please update your CPU-Z - you're several versions down level.
