Maybe AMD got tired of all the Users whining about how buggy their AMD VGA Drivers were and decided to take their time and come out with drivers that doesn't cause more issues then they fix.
Beside what is the rush in updating your GPU driver. The last drivers should be good for a long time. If you are having issues then try downgrading the driver and see if the GPU is more stable.
