This idles at 1900 MHz no matter what I do.  I've reset pc, shut it down, and factory reset it twice!!! Automatically from boot with no other applications open it sits at over 1900 MHz which causes an issue for me in games like Escape From Tarkov, because as soon as I get in a gun fight my frames drop tremendously.  These issues only started after I noticed my ridiculously high clock speed....I'm getting ready to just stop using AMD graphics cards. Please tell me there's some fix on the way or you know the solution to this problem.  AMD Radeon 6700XT Hell Hound EditionIdles at 1990 MHz

Are you running a high refresh rate display?

Yes, it doesn't even change when I change the display rate.  I've turned both down to 144Hx and it stays the exact same

Or running multiple displays with different ref. rates.

There is also an issue with having 'desktop record' with other 'instant..' options enabled at the same time on some systems.

Both at 240 Hz.  Turned them both down to 144 Hz and it didn't change a thing

There is a thread about RX 5000 and RX 6000 GPUs memory clock running at full speed because of high refresh rate displays. My RX 5600 XT, before I upgraded to my RX 6800 XT, and my RX 6800 XT only downclock because I am now running a single display with adaptive sync enabled. If I disable it my GPU memory clock sits at max clock at all times. It is due to the high refresh rate of your display. It was addressed by @Matt_AMD.

None of these solutions work.  I've dropped them both down and even unplugged a monitor.  VRAM doesn't budge

Have you dropped the monitor to 60hz to see if it downclocks?

Multiple monitors can make it not downclock. Running at high refreshrate even with a single monitor can make it not downclock. The only way it downclocks for me is if I run single display at 60hz or use Adaptive Sync. It functions that way as @Matt_AMD said. This is normal behavior for RX 5000 and RX 6000 cards.

I shouldn't have to drop my 240Hz monitors to 60 because a gaming companies GPU's cant handle it.  Not only have I don't that I even unplugged a monitor and it doesn't budge.

This is what @Matt_AMD said in another post where someone had the same issue. It is a monitor issue.

Came across your post and it helped me lower my vram and also substantially lowered my GPU temp as well. At 165hz my GPU temp was at 60c idle. Changed monitor to 75hz and now it runs at 40c idle. With highs at just under 70c. Thanks!
