Tearing with RX 7700 XT on Overwatch 2 and Apex Legends

I am experiencing tearing in overwatch 2 and apex legends, both games are showing 165FPS all the time but i still have tearing even with freesync, My monitor is the Pixio PX277P. And i dont want to enable vsync because it produces input lag, i am on the latest driver 23.12.1. My gpu is faulty? or this is a driver issue that can be fix?

are you using HDMI or DP to connect to it?

IF HDMI , try DP

It seems odd how some monitors will tear and some won't .. I ran a 1080p HDMI Samsung 60hz monitor on my daughter's setup that even with VSYNC enabled there was tearing .. gave her my old 24" ASUS 1080p 144hz 1ms monitor and no more tearing even with VSYNC off (RX 580 4GB GPU)

My wife runs a couple old Dell 24" 1080p 60hz monitors using DP .. never any tearing in games using her 5700XT

I was running a Samsung 27" 144hz 4ms 1440p monitor as my primary via HDMI and never any tearing

You could also try running the AMD Cleanup Utility tool and then reinstall the latest GPU drivers from AMD.com website

IF still tearing .. try running monitor at 144hz for testing purposes

Hello! Thank you for replying. I am using a DP cable 1.4, its strange because my old Rx 5700XT ran great without any tearing running the same games but at 1080P, i do not own the card anymore to test. I did use the cleanup utility and installed the latest drivers but nothing changed, something strange is that by default freesync is not enabled, when i turn it on it causes micro stuterring on Google Chrome, i will follow your advice and try those games at 144hz, thank you again!

You can enable free sync in Adrenaline software for those games only (not globally) under the Games tab. Click on the game you want to enable free sync for and it will only be enabled when playing the selected game and not for other applications(globally enabled) under the display tab.

Hello! I did enable freesync in the Adrenaline software for those games, not globally as you mention. but i still had tearing, i tend to think its a driver issue, i ended up enabling vsync because the games were unplayable, playing with vsync is not ideal. I feel dissapointed, i never had issues with my Rx 5700XT, i hope amd will fix the issue otherwise i will go with nvidia.
