Hi folks!

Played Serious Sam HD The Second Encounter back in the summer, thought I'd pick it up again. In the meantime I updated the driver to version 24.8.1. Today I thought I'd play the game again and it didn't work. I tried a lot to find out what was wrong, finally installed the 24.4.1 driver and it worked, the game starts right up.
Can anyone else confirm that the game does not start with the fresh driver?

The last line of the file in the LOG folder contains the Loaded "D3D9.dll", which is the last line that could have caused the program to freeze.

My specs are:

Cpu: Ryzen 9 3900x

Ram: 32gb 3200mhz

Gpu: 7900xt

Are you using the Steam version of the game?

I don't have SSHD:2E but I do have SS3:BFE on Steam which is also DirectX 9.0c and it runs just fine on my 7900XT with 24.8.1

Today I tried the new 24.9.1 driver, but the result is the same. For the sake of testing, next time I'll check SS3:BFE to see if the error exists there too.
