Hi guys,
i got the new RX590 and was hoping to drive my BenQ EW3270U at 4k, 60hz, 10bit.
It's connected via a DP 1.4 cable, which should have enough bandwidth for that... afaik.
In my Radeon driver settings, i can select 10bpc or 12bpc, but for whatever reason, it jumps back to 8bpc after the screen turns black for a second or so.
(It stays at 10bpc if i lower the resolution to Full HD though, I'm not really sure whats going on here).
Any ideas?
nako
(Windows' "HDR" mode is turned off... if i turn it on, the driver sticks to 10bpc, but i can't raise the refresh rate above 30hz)
Is it a possible limitation re the 'Vesa Displayhdr' standard, what does Benq support say will/not work ?
Same Problem.
3270U with ASUS RX580,DP 1.4 cable, only work at 8 bit @4k & YCbCr 444, but ability to work at 10bit @4k & YCbCr422.
Hope to be resolved.
I have asked engineering to take a look at this issue.
My understanding is this should be available when using DP, but not HDMI.
The same problem
10-bit output can only be generated in RGB 4:2:2
These new drivers have not been fixed.
I hope the official can pay attention to this issue.
Can you provide more information about your system?
OS→ Win10
Driver version→ 19.1.2, 19.1.1, 18.12.3
BENQ 3270U with ASUS Dual RX580, DP 1.4 cable,
only work at 8 bit @4k & YCbCr 444 60HZ, but ability to work at 10bit @4k & YCbCr422 60HZ.
Have tried the old driver version 17.40
OS can display 10bit, radeon software still stays at 8bit.
But this does not completely solve the problem.
I have this issue as well, and I hope you see this reply:
I have 2x RX 470 in CrossFire on 19.2.2 in Windows 7 x64 and a new AOC AG273QCX.
The RX 470 should support DP 1.4 and the AOC AG273QCX should support 2560x1440 @ 144 Hz and 10 bpc.
However I can only get it to run at 2560x1440 @ 144 Hz and 8 bpc or 2560x1440 @ 120 Hz and 10 bpc.
I'm using the cable supplied in the monitor box.
I can only ever see 4x 5.4 Gbps lanes in use via Radeon Settings. This correlates to DP 1.2, and not the HBR3 mode available on DP 1.3 and above.
Can you update us on the status of this? (Is it now a confirmed issue?)
I'm nearing the end of the return period of my monitor and I want to make sure I can return it in time if it's a fault of the monitor itself.
If it's a confirmed issue, is there a known driver version that does not have this issue? complementary post suggests that 17.40 may work, but I don't know if I want to roll back that far to test, and I'm not sure how to get Windows to switch to that mode without going through Radeon Settings, and I'm not sure I'd trust what Windows was telling me (I'm on Windows 7).
I have RX480 and GTX1070.
The setting (4K 10bit 4:4:4) works in GTX1070 on BenQ EW3270U
The setting (4K 10bit 4:4:4) DON'T works in RX480 on BenQ EW3270U
BenQ's enginner say it is AMD Driver problem.
EW3270U support AMD Freesync but AMD video card not support the monitor (4K 10bit 4:4:4)
That is funny.
PLEASE do something.
I had issues with 60Hz 4K I could not get 10-bit 12-bit working., Only 8-bit would work. However when I used 59Hz or less 12bpc 10bpc started to work on my 580 so all one has to do is set it to 59Hz anything it is not noticeable from 60. ALSO not all HDMI High speed cables are the same. Amazon Basic do not work good for 4K UHD I used the cable from my Nintendo Switch the colors are better the luminance is better and the screen is sharper. So I just switched them around since the Basics are more than sufficient for 1080p. I can use all settings too including YCbCr 4:2:0. I have an TLC 43S517 4K UHD With Dolby Vision (12-Bit) HDR-10. If you can get it for ~$260 I would grab it if anything for a cheap and a great display. It is not perfect but it does 4K real well.
